On February 9, 2017,Ottawa Arts Council held their Sweetheart Cocktail for the Arts at the Bridgehead Roastery which was celebrating 35 years!
DJ Sweetcheeks provided the music for the night, photobooth from SPAO and speeches from the Ottawa Arts Council with an appearance from the mayor Jim Watson.

Around 1000 people joined outside the US Embassy in Ottawa to form a human chain and protest this unconscionable, unconstitutional action that President Trump made issuing an executive order banning the entry of individuals from certain Muslim majority countries, temporarily suspending the entry of all refugees into the US, and barring the resettlement of Syrian refugees to the US indefinitely.
Speakers included Paul Dewar, Berak Hussain, Adam Gilani, Alex Neve, Dahabo Omar, Bara’a Arar, Amira Elghawaby and many more.

PDA Projects held their opening night for A Wrinkle In Time.
It is an exhibition featuring artist by Tasman Richardson from Toronto, Melanie Rose Peterson from Boston and Alysha Farling from Vancouver.
About the Exhibition A Wrinkle In Time:
The title for this exhibition borrows from Madeleine L’Engle’s 1963 novel A Wrinkle In Time, a science fiction children’s story that describes a young woman’s journey across the universe and battle against a force of pure evil.
